Helton Remodeling finished this beautiful kitchen remodel with the aim of making the very most in a limited space. We were able to make some simple design decisions to maximize space including closing off a second entry into the kitchen and moving the fridge to that location. This freed up the old fridge space for additional cabinets. The old kitchen used a small island on casters for food prep. We added two cabinets with a countertop overhang for additional prep and eating space. We changed out the previous track light for four LED can lights to better illuminate the room with another LED can directly over the sink.
Helton Remodeling needed to resolve two functional issues in this kitchen. There was a pantry closet located where the new pantry cabinet would be installed, and the door always swung into it. The homeowners also wanted more natural light in the kitchen. Helton Remodeling installed a new outswing door with a full lite glass to solve both these problems.
We are always looking to use the best ideas for space. The window over the sink is too close the adjoining wall to install a corner cabinet, and the idea of leaving the space empty just did not make sense. We customized the wall cabinet to attach a shallower shelf to solve this. We also added a push air button for the garbage disposal to eliminate the need for a switch.
We also wanted the island to be more than additional prep and eating space. A drawer cabinet was stacked next to a base cabinet allowing for good storage. An outlet was added to the end of the cabinet on the door side for countertop appliance use. New tile floors were installed throughout the kitchen.
