West Lake Hills, TX is located just minutes from downtown Austin. It is characterized by the scenic rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country that stretch all the way to Lake Austin. West Lake Hills continues to attract the rich and famous and has become home to many celebrities including musicians Kenny Rogers and the Jonas Brothers, Texas Rangers baseball outfielder Josh Hamilton, and CEO’s like Matthew Rose.
West Lake Hills is known in Austin for its posh lifestyle, large mansions and incredible school system. Westlake High School is top on the Texas football map with alumni like NFL quarterbacks Drew Brees and Nick Foles, who both graduated there. Yet the feel of West Lake Hills is still rural. It is surprising to see large wooded areas and deer filled forests so close to downtown Austin.

The picture to the left is a complete redesign of the master bathroom in a Lost Creek subdivision home. The massive tub was located in the current shower space and the new tub was moved to the previous water closet location. All floors and several walls along with the split vanity were removed to accommodate this lush walk in shower with rain shower and wand.
In the picture above new Shaker vanity cabinets were installed with a white quartz top to accent the shiplap wainscoting for a French Provincial look. The mirrors, lights and faucets match that same style. You might notice the closet behind the vanity. This became the new location for the water closet where a small vanity cabinet was previously located.
In this last picture of the French Provincial master bathroom, you will notice the under mount tub faced with shiplap and topped with the same quartz as the vanity. A lot of thought went into this design to figure out how to keep a master bath feel while utilizing the space. The next room is the master closet, and reducing closet space did not seem like a great solution. Helton Remodeling moved the water closet (walls and all) to make room for this large soaking tub with built-in shelving. The built-in provides both practical storage space for towels and toiletries as well as adding space for decorative Knick knacks to complete the French Provincial feel of the bathroom.
These last two pictures are of a secondary bathroom in the same house. The French Provincial style was desired in this bathroom as well which goes really well with the 10’ high ceilings. Ornate porcelain backsplash was installed which serves to tie in the rustic color of the mirrors and fixtures. The same color of tile was used on the back of the shampoo niche and the upper walls of the tub surround. Old style soffit lighting was removed to take the ceiling all the way to the top. Recessed LED lighting was added in the ceiling to aid the sconce lighting on the sides of the mirrors. These subtle changes create a secondary bathroom typically only seen in mansions.
